Elemis Review: Revitalize Your Skin, Without Breaking the Bank: A Therapist’s Take on Elemis Pro-Collagen Balm and Pumpkin Superfood

As a financial therapist, I spend much of my time helping people find balance—whether that’s with their bank accounts or their emotional well-being. I wanted to review two skincare products out of many that I’ve been testing.

Elemis Review- a critical view. Some of you know I have some background in cosmetic chemistry; I truly feel you can’t go wrong with Elemis, but I have a few minor complaints which you will find out soon enough.

You deserve to feel great inside and out, and one key to that is nourishing your skin.

That’s where Elemis’s magic comes in—specifically, their Pro Collagen Cleansing Balm and Superfood collection, which I absolutely love.

For my Elemis review- the Elemis Superfood range takes natural, nutrient-rich ingredients to a new level. With elements like fermented pumpkin, fermented acerola cherry, and more, your skin gets the nourishment it craves without any harmful fillers.

Here are the key ingredients that make Elemis Superfood so effective:

  • Fermented Pumpkin: This ingredient helps your skin naturally renew itself, thanks to its AHAs and enzymes that smooth away dullness and encourage cellular turnover.
  • Mango Butter: Rich in omegas and fatty acids, mango butter hydrates and cleanses, leaving your skin feeling soft and nourished.
  • Fermented Acerola Cherry: Packed with antioxidants, this superfruit extract revitalizes your skin, giving it a more youthful, healthy glow.
  • Fermented Rice Water: Known for its soothing properties, fermented rice water calms your complexion, smooths your skin, and promotes clarity.

These Elemis review ingredients aren’t just natural—they’re also scientifically backed to provide maximum benefit for your skin’s health. Much like balancing your budget, taking care of your skin doesn’t have to be overly complicated. It just requires the right tools (or ingredients!).

Here’s what irked me:

I truly expected this to smell like pumpkin for some reason. It does not. That was sobering.

What I loved:

I did find it to have a light scent, but I can’t place it; it is a faint aroma. The texture is creamy and luxurious.

I also liked that if I kept it on for about 20 minutes, it felt like and responded as a face mask. I felt like it was very renewal-focused.

Now, for the Pro-Collagen!

Elemis Pro Collagen Cleanings Balm

Elemis review part two-

  • Padina Pavonica: This is a type of Mediterranean algae known for its anti-aging properties. It helps to enhance the skin’s moisture barrier and increase the firmness and elasticity of the skin. Padina Pavonica supports the production of glycosaminoglycans, which play a role in maintaining skin hydration and plumpness.
  • Starflower Oil: Also known as borage oil, starflower oil is rich in gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), an omega-6 fatty acid that is excellent for soothing dry, irritated, or inflamed skin. It helps improve the skin’s barrier function, keeping moisture in and irritants out, and can also reduce the appearance of redness and promote overall skin health.
  • Elderberry oil: is packed with antioxidants, which help to protect the skin from environmental stressors like pollution and UV damage. It’s also rich in vitamins A and C, which promote a brighter complexion and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Elderberry oil is known for its ability to calm the skin and promote a smooth, healthy glow.

This one was surprising; I purchased and thought it would be “just ok”, but it is fantastic.

Here’s what I didn’t like:

Zero. I love this one through and through.

What I loved:

This one has a bit more of a scent. The starflower has a bit of an earthy scent. I think I sense a bit of the elderberry fruit scent.

This is more of a balm, and it glides on very smoothly.

When I apply:

I use the Elemis Superfood in the morning; It cleanses and is very moisturizing without being heavy. My skin drinks it right in; I’ve worn a tinted sunblock over it and there was no streaking, etc.

The Elemis Balm, I use in the evening. It seems a bit heavier and while it cleanses, it also feels like it leaves a little protection behind; which I like. I feel like this one gives me a glow by morning. Maybe it’s the collagen doing it’s magic during the night.
