Lesson 7 — Financial Happiness and Truth
Goal: Reconnect with your truth so money decisions come from clarity—not survival.
Sun and clouds
Good memories can feel like sunlight.
Hard memories can feel like storm clouds.
Both exist in the same sky.
Knowing your truth is like remembering the sun is still there, even when clouds move in.
When truth gets lost
People can lose touch with truth when they’ve had to focus on others to stay safe:
- caregiving at a high cost to self
- walking on eggshells in conflict
- growing up in chaos
When that happens, there’s little space to build a financial self:
- planning
- saving
- asking questions
- taking up space
Activity (journal)
- Write 3–5 things you loved as a child.
- art, nature, music, toys, games—anything
- Answer:
- What brought you happiness back then?
- How have you brought that into your life now?
- Do you cover it up with “shoulds” (a certain house/car/clothes/status) instead?
Closing thought
Your truth is not your trauma.
Your future isn’t defined by your past.
